〃Amen；〃　said　Larry　solemnly；　taking　her　hand　in　his。

〃Jane；　did　you　hear　what　he　said？〃

〃Yes；〃　whispered　Jane。　　〃He　said　'the　Major。'〃

〃That's　nothing；〃　said　Larry；　〃but　he　said　'the　Major's　wife！'〃

And　so　together　they　went　to　the　war。
