somewhat　　　startling　　　emphasis；　　　　　　　　　　　that　　　Hunsden　　　　　　deigned　　　　　to　　bestow　

one　　　　　slight　　　glance　　　　of　　　admiration。　　　　　　He　　　　liked　　　something　　　　　　　strong；　

whether　　　　　　in　　　man　　　　or　　woman；　　　　　　he　　　liked　　　whatever　　　　　　dared　　　　to　　clear
